Comcast offers a number of different internet and voice services in Northern Colorado including Fort Collins and Denver. Let’s delve into each:
Comcast Internet Services
Comcast offers a residential grade cable internet service, a business grade cable internet service and fiber internet service. The cable internet services are available in large parts of the USA including Northern Colorado, Denver, and other areas. Although the service may be available in a particular city, it does not mean it is available everywhere in that city. Comcast cable services do not guarantee their service levels, meaning if there is an outage you are stuck until the service is restored. Comcast fiber internet service can come with service level guarantees.
Comcast Residential Cable Internet Services
Comcast offers an affordable cable internet service for residences. The service is faster than most other options available to residences.
Comcast Business Class Internet Services
Comcast business class internet service comes in several speeds, ranging from 16/3 (16 mb download / 3 mb upload) to 100 / 20. For many small businesses these speeds are adequate. Although they state this is a business class service, it really is the same residential infrastructure they are using.
In our experience, service reliability varies by area the service is operating in. We have seen businesses go several months at a time without a service disruption. On the other hand, we have also seen businesses with frequent short duration outages. With the cost of the service so compelling, businesses need to either accept the trade-off that comes with it or put in place backup connectivity if an outage will do harm to their business.
Comcast Fiber Internet Service
Summary – Comcast Services
Comcast offers good internet speeds for the price. The service is generally reliable. However, the biggest problems working with Comcast are their well documented customer service issues and the inadequate and inconsistent training of their technicians. We frequently need to call for onsite support multiple times in order to get a capable technician onsite. We have seen service issues due to the way the cable was installed. We have witnessed Comcast install at the wrong building, completely miss installation times, and about 1 in 2 installations require 1 or more followup calls to get everything stable.
